SEA and Flash

Some people never understand, or accept, that it's not some HTML magic but contents regarded as remarkable by others which leads to linkpopularity. An example I've just discovered is the Meggaflash site, where the "art" is in the writing. Shame that their link page has too much dead wood.

Call for Linkfest

Seth Finkelstein shows in his blog [yet again], how some people seem to have a talent for provoking others into providing links, a behaviour traditionally called trolling. All it needs is a controversial statement and some fanboys, it seems.

Being somewhat interested in photography I found another example of useful and unusual linkbait. I find it strange that professionals fail to produce something similar and have to resort to buying links when it's so much easier - and rewarding - to provide a bit of heart and soul.

Tea Break Fiction

The stuff used to be called Short Stories. In book form I never liked short stories, even if written by some of my favourite authors. And then I came across the subject of Flash Fiction, that is, fiction which aim to deliver a "maximum of meaning with a brutal economy of words", so short, that it's just long enough for a few minutes excitement, and - given the right set of skills - easily produced and linked.

For the sophisticated break there's no better delight than the quintessential Englishman's. Still, at yet another end of the spectrum there are people who prefer to indulge in reading and re-reading the very shortest of all.
