Falmouth Funchal 500

Two weeks ago Falmouth was the host port for the Funchal 500 Tall Ships Regatta, which was organised by Sail Training International and the centrepiece of year-long celebrations of the 500th anniversary of the first settlement on the Portuguese island of Madeira.

Unfortunately we chose the rainiest day to have a look, so there a just a very few photos.

The only four masted ship participating in the event wasn't even there until just a few hours before the actual start of the race. Would have loved to have a closer look at the Sedov.
